At Bugnet, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our bug-tracking platform designed for indie game developers. By using Bugnet, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect several types of information to provide and improve our service:

Account Information

Game and Project Data

Usage Analytics

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure, cloud-based infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:

While we take every reasonable precaution, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we are committed to protecting your data to the best of our ability.

4. Third-Party Services

Bugnet integrates with and relies on certain third-party services to deliver our platform. These services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them:

We only share the minimum amount of data necessary with these providers for them to perform their respective functions.

5. Content You Upload and Player Data

Bugnet lets you and your players submit content such as bug reports, screenshots, video and audio recordings, session replays, crash logs, file attachments, and related metadata ("Uploaded Content"). Uploaded Content may contain personal data about your players or other individuals.

You control the content you upload. With respect to Uploaded Content and any personal data it contains, you (and not Bugnet) act as the data controller. Bugnet processes that data on your behalf as a service provider, solely to provide the Service. You are responsible for: (a) having a lawful basis to collect and share that data; (b) providing any required notices to, and obtaining any required consents from, your players; and (c) responding to your players' privacy requests. We will assist you with such requests where reasonably required by law.

Our role and limitations. We do not pre-screen or monitor Uploaded Content, and we do not control what you or your players submit. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bugnet is not responsible or liable for Uploaded Content, including its accuracy, legality, or any personal or sensitive data contained within it. You agree not to upload special categories of sensitive personal data, payment card numbers, or other highly sensitive information through bug reports or attachments, and not to use the Service in connection with content prohibited by our Terms of Service (including games with adult or mature themes). We may remove Uploaded Content that violates our Terms or applicable law.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data and Uploaded Content for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete specific content, or when you close your account, we delete or anonymize the associated data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our agreements. Backups containing residual copies are overwritten on a rolling basis.

7. International Data Transfers

Bugnet is operated from the United States, and the third-party providers we rely on may process data in the United States and other countries. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in jurisdictions whose data protection laws may differ from those in your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, for these transfers.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for game developers and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 16 through the developer dashboard. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@bugnet.io and we will take steps to delete it. If your game is directed to children, you are responsible for complying with applicable children's privacy laws with respect to any player data you collect and upload.

9. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@bugnet.io. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

10. Cookies

Bugnet uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance your experience on our platform:

We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking across third-party websites. We do not sell cookie data to any third parties.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by placing a prominent notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect.

Your continued use of Bugnet after the updated policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes. If you do not agree with the updated policy, you may close your account at any time.
